Sarda is dedicated to life, offering a conscious choice, made to last. Sarda is honest. About what it does and where it is from, about its never-ending search for more sustainable ways of creating, producing, and distributing.

Sarda is quality that lasts.

Only products of very high quality and that last can be truly sustainable. Our quality standards are extremely high. All the fabrics we use are tested in our own laboratory in Belgium. Before they are shipped to stores or to you, all our lingerie and swimwear pass through our quality control department. We are dedicated to offering you a conscious choice, made to last.

Sarda lingerie is 100% skin-safe

Unfortunately, a lot of fast fashion products are not only very damaging for the environment, but they can also literally make you ill because they contain harmful substances. Sarda products are made with fabrics that are 100% Oeko-Tex and REACH certified. This means we can guarantee you that all our products are safe for you and your skin.

Made in Barcelona since 1962

We are a third generation family business with our own atelier based in the heart of Barcelona. Nuria Sarda, daughter of our founder Andres Sarda, is currently head of the design team.

SA Website Sustainability Images always

Sarda is here for you, unapologetically, always.

Ever since its launch in 1962, Sarda has been an inclusive brand that empowers all femininities. With its inclusive and rule-breaking campaigns, its liberating designs and its open-minded view on the world. Be unapologetically you, always.

But we want to do more. There are women in the world living in less fortunate circumstances, with less chances, less freedom, less rights. All our charity initiatives go to organizations that focus on women, including our collaboration with Plan International. We also donate lingerie to organizations helping women in need.

We know who made your lingerie.

Sarda lingerie is made in people-loving conditions. We only work with ateliers that have social responsibility labels, and all our partners signed our social responsibility charter.

75% of our fabric suppliers are European. They are partners with whom we have long-lasting relationships and shared values. Working with close-to-home partners has many advantages:

• Western-European designs and quality are unrivaled
• The shorter the chain, the lower the transport kilometers
• Being close means we can reach out to our suppliers more easily and quickly. It gives us greater flexibility.

Want to know more?

Sarda is a family-run company that has been designing lingerie in Barcelona since 1962. Most of our design process happens in Spain. Quality control, pattern cutting, innovation and all things distribution are done in Belgium. For the stitching, we use our own workshop in Tunisia and other specialised subcontractors in Tunisia, Thailand and China. Working conditions there are strictly monitored. Independent certificates and labels such as SMETA and WRAP guarantee that production is fair, safe and healthy.

No. All our lingerie and swimwear are 100% safe. All our fabrics and materials carry the following labels:

o Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX
o REACH
o Global Recycled Standard

This means that the materials and fabrics we use in our collections do not contain toxic substances that can be harmful to you, the planet or your skin.

We try to reduce and reuse our operational packaging material as much as possible. All our lingerie comes in FSC-labelled cardboard boxes instead of plastic bags.

Our co-workers are our most important asset, that’s why we take great care of them while respecting working conditions such as: health & safety, working hours, living wages... To subscribe our commitment, we have a social charter and code of conduct that are the fundaments of a thriving working culture for our people.

By managing our stocks accurately and planning smartly, we can minimise unsold stock. We use smart forecasting models that calculate how much lingerie and swimwear we need each season. Whatever is left, we donate in a very targeted way.

The largest part of our waste is cutting waste. In our workshop, we have intelligent cutting robots that make sure we waste as little fabric as possible when cutting out our patterns from the fabric.

For the leftovers of our seasonal fabrics, we are always looking for new circular solutions. Think of make-up bags, mouth masks or even acoustic panels.

We go the extra mile to make sure your lingerie and swimwear last as long as possible. Not fast fashion, but fashion made to last. That is why we test all our fabrics and material components in a number of ways: strength, colour durability, stretchability and so on. We've got some great washing tips for you to make sure your lingerie and swimwear last as long as possible at home.

The fabrics and materials we select for our collections meet high quality standards: they offer a good fit and comfort, are colourfast and long-lasting.

75% of our raw materials come from Western Europe. The shorter the chains, the fewer transport kilometers. Proximity also allows for more flexibility, to respond quickly to needs and trends.

The (synthetic) fabrics and materials we select for our collections meet our high quality standards: They offer a good fit and comfort, are colourfast, long-lasting and sturdy.

However, the specific material blends do have an impact on the environment:

• Their production requires a lot of fossil fuels and energy.
• They are usually a mix of polyester, polyamide and elastane. This mix makes them difficult to recycle.

We stay on the lookout for more environmentally friendly alternatives, such as recycled and bio-based yarns. In 2021, 2.5% of our fibres were recycled, in 2023 we were already at 6%.
Why don’t we use more recycled fibres? Simply put because most recycled fibres cannot (yet) guarantee the same quality. We are constantly looking to increase the share of environmentally friendly alternatives, without compromising on wearability, comfort, and quality.

Ever since the beginning in 1962 respect and inclusivity have been key in the DNA of Sarda. We aim to empower all femininities.

• We make lingerie for and by women. We are proud to say that 90% of our employees are women.
• We're passionate about helping our employees to achieve their full potential. We believe in providing them with the tools and support they need to grow and develop in their personal and professional lives.
• Our lingerie is daring and fashion forward, and it's here to empower you to be the boldest version of yourself.
• We're committed to supporting social projects that make a real difference to underprivileged women in society. By doing so, we focus on equal opportunities, education and health for women and girls all over the world.

We support local and global initiatives that focus on empowering women.

o Education and training
Plan International is an organisation dedicated to improving the position of young women in society. A mission that is perfectly aligned with ours. We are proud to support a fantastic program that is making a real difference to the development of girls in Rwanda. We offer financial and material support to a local fashion school.

o Health and well-being
We donate lingerie and swimwear to local organisations that help women in need, such as women's refugee homes. We are proud to be working with Médecins Sans Frontières to donate our products in a targeted way to underprivileged women.

o Equal opportunities
We also fund local projects that fight against disadvantages and provide family support at home.  We collaborated with organizations in Barcelona, donating sewing machines and sets to women at risk and the BCN prison, and supported the Clinic Hospital Barcelona during the pandemic by providing sets for the female staff as a thank you for their hard work. Additionally, we donate annually to the Mangola Foundation and have supported OA Africa to help women become professional sewers.

At Sarda, we make sure that all our employees can work in the best possible environment.

We have a social and ethical charter in place and several committees that follow up on the social accountability of the company. We also work with Top Form workshops in China and Thailand, which have the WRAP label for safe, fair, and sustainable production. In Tunisia, our two subcontractors are SMETA-certified for ethical practices and human rights. We're proud to invest in fair and good working conditions for all employees in the whole value chain, who are mainly women, worldwide.

The health of our employees is also a top priority, and we continue to make great investments to ensure comfortable working conditions. We also provide training that helps both experienced colleagues and starters to grow and develop.
